Cal Ripken

Cal Ripken, a division of Babe Ruth Leagues, Inc.

The Regular season runs from April to early June and all the games are played on Lake O. or West Linn area fields. No travel required. Post season is optional and starts once the Regular season is completed and runs through July.

Much like the better-known Little League, Cal Ripken Baseball is a growing national organization with over 600,000 participants playing baseball around the world. Cal Ripken Baseball is the fastest growing league in the US and is personally supported by Cal and his brother Billy, both retired major league players.

Rules are very similar to Little League but for players interested in playing baseball after our House League Season ends, there is a summer tournament schedule that allows teams to pick and choose where and when they want to play in June and July, before entering the State and Regional tournaments. Little League's post season play is strictly tied to the national title tournament trail and there are no guarantees of any games if you do not win your first tournament. Cal Ripken Baseball also allows for post season play for 11 year old teams as well as "B" teams.

Playing Cal Ripken Baseball allows us to be part of a large national organization that offers support services such as insurance coverage and a post regular season for those players wanting to continue playing in to the summer.

Our House League season starts in early April and ends in June, just prior to school finishing. Players wanting to continue on in to the summer, have an opportunity to do so and play in local and regional tournaments against other Cal Ripken teams of the same age group from around the Pacific Northwest.

At the 9 and 11 year old divisions, a state tournament path is available. For the 10 and 12 year old divisions, a national tournament trail exists for teams that can compete at the highest level within the Cal Ripken program. Post season baseball typically starts when school finishes and runs through the end of July. Tryouts are involved, but we field as many post season teams as we have players and coaches available.
